Ed was one of the last Scanimate animators, but he has been among the first to use many video tools for production including the ADO, Via Video, and Quantel paint systems, System IV, Bosch FGS-4000, Abekas, Wavefront, and digital videotape. He has worked for video facilities in Hollywood, New York, and Atlanta and for NASA in Houston. His film work includes the LUXOR project for Douglas Trumbull and as a Sequence Supervisor at Industrial Light & Magic for Clear and Present Danger, Jumanji, Twister, 101 Dalmatians, The Lost World, Deep Impact, and Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. He lives in Colorado with his wife, Kim, and daughter, Hannah.
