Digital Domain (aka DD v1.0) was founded in 1993 by Scott Ross, Jim Cameron and Stan Winston. With an initial investment by IBM, the company hired 8 engineers, and 27 artists for a new facility in Venice, California during June '93.
The first feature film project was "The Color of Night" starring Bruce Willis; all 2D comp & paint work done the summer of '93 completed by Senior Technical Director Terrence Masson and others.
