Incorporated in 1968 by Dave Evans and Ivan Sutherland, E&S was the first computer graphics company ever formed. Based in Salt Lake City Utah, E&S produced vector graphics workstations initially for military flight simulator use, but later for many commercial companies as well such as Robert Abel's and Cranston/Csuri.
E&S first products were the LDS-1, LDS-2 then Picture System-2 vector systems; all used with another host system such as the VAX-11/780 (Abel used a PS2 with the Gould 6031)
