"In the early days of computer art there was considerable discussion about whether computer 'Art' was the end result: the 'art work' that one could see, or the program that created the visual piece. I asked Tom Duff (then at NYIT, later at Pixar) to write and submit, to the 1st SIGGRAPH Art Show, a one page program that had a joke or something in it that only a programmer would get. I printed this page out, blew it up, framed it and hung it in the art show along with all the other artworks." (author?)
